essential materials for the other thing are *still* not here, so i started something else
sad that hard dolls require a thigh gap for better articulation. what's being censored is not much but just in case someone doesn't want mild t&p on their tl

things done: polished all the pieces, hollowed them out, booleaned geometry, created peanuts, rigged the hand for future posing. Took all day ✌️
Moreover, since ideally I wouldn't do any drilling, I already sculpted magnet slots in the head, hands and feet

I have to take breaks inbetween sanding the pieces bc my hands hurt but I have all of them, except for the hands that I still have to pose & print. Also I would've liked to test the stringing but the elastic i have is way too thick
The room is disgusting, I can't wait to vacuum
dw it's not perfectly smooth rn
layering chalk pastels & primer, not sure it's doing what i want since i can't seem to apply the pastels uniformly & the primer looks to be turning the light mauve of the blush into a darker purple? Looks darker irl, i'd need sunlight to rly tell
this is how big she is... you can see the uneven/sloppy finish all over
looking at the positives, I have a complete, fully strung mannequin i won't be afraid of scratching when i'll be making clothing/wigs

ended up reprinting everything but the chest & torso parts, which I was able to repaint. Face sculpt is new too, to reflect the newest iteration. I used an airbrush, what a difference
The double joints i remade from scratch & they work this time, shes articulated properly now

Actually I had found an article in my stash that somewhat worked but not really, so i thought of making a better fitting draft
This feels so much worse than if it was simply unclothed I was worried someone would walk into the room

took around 4 hrs inbtwn editing patterns, cutting fabric, cutting it again bc I messed up, & stitching it all together by hand bc having to deal w my sewing machine wouldve given me agita. I still have to sew the clip buttons in the back, but I'm just happy I've done this much

I wanted to replicate this outfit & I already had a vinyl-adjacent fabric I could use but I'm noticing it shows up weird on camera, dk if it's bc of my room's lighting
It's supposed to be a champagne color & the holographic effect is nowhere near as crazy as in the pic

It's not horrendous ig but it could be a lot better
The first ringlets came out pretty awkward, now they're all crimped because I suppose I didn't put enough fixative, and I can't smooth them back out
The bumper is definitely not angular enough

New one on the left, the ringlets are so much better looking already
I had a much easier time, somehow I ended up using less ringlets to fill the same space? All the better, it's less bulky
