Some bg: Medaea is a witch and Flea's adopted mom, her true form is of a sphinx. The disguise form appears to be much older than her true form, due to Medaea living so long among humans and needing to blend in. This is because her human form is allowed to age unlike her true form, which is near eternal. If she the human dies of old age, so does her true form: to avoid this, Medaea will have to shift back to a sphinx, and therefore go into hiding, never able to go back to human society. also a fun detail that ill probably never be able to follow up on due to my poor language skills, spells are spoken in riddle form
